The May edition of Women’s Health Magazine touts the benefits of martial arts training, in particular the high caloric expenditure. It states that students burn, on average 500 calories per hour. Martial arts workouts also, “boost your metabolism, improve your balance, and chisel a strong, stunning physique.” Martial arts training incorporates punching and kicking, which are also “proven stress relievers.”
