An intense and dynamic workout, Sanda or 散打, tests your levels of cardiovascular and muscular endurance. Sanda is a full-contact sport fighting style that transforms the whole body into a weapon. Utilizing punches, kicks, elbows, knees, and spectacular takedowns and slams, it can be a very exciting sport to watch.
It has become one of China’s popular sports and is practiced in most countries around the world. China has a national tournament called the Chinese Sanda King Tournament. It lasts the majority of a year. The United States started a national Sanda King tournament in 2003. Dr. Ramirez of Nei Jing Eastern Medicine won a gold medal at this inaugural tournament.
Dr. Ramirez trained in China at the Beijing University of Physical Education, (北京体育大学). He is currently teaching Sanda Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Academy of Mixed Martial Science 11677 National Blvd.West L.A., CA 90064.
